Help clear and set up new food growing site at Stoke Newington

January 19, 2013 from 10am to 4pm
Growing Communities' newest Patchwork Farmers Hannah, James, Sarah and Sean are creating a new growing space in the heart of Stoke Newington and would love to have help clearing it of weeds. This is a great opportunity to see how an urban market garden begins its life. Come for the whole day or drop in when you are free. Access to the garden (behind a bank) is on Kynaston Avenue, Stoke Newington, opposite Kynaston Gardens. Wear strong shoes and old clothes. Tools and gloves provided.See More

Visiting activist at london

September 9, 2012 to September 15, 2012
Hi For the week preceding the transition towns conference I'm looking for a base in London.I'm a full time activist producing community currency software and will be attending the Reconomy day on 14th September. While I'm in London I will be meeting up with various people and I will need a reliable source of internet when I'm not out and about. Last visit I ended up in a squat without internet and didn't get much work done!I'm a nomad living mostly in the gift economy, and this 'event' is your…See More

Networking and Facilitating the "Transition Process" in different countries

I initiated "Elderflower Community Garden" in the South of Austria in 2008 near the Town Klagenfurt in the Region of Carinthia. The participants, many of them with migration backround and-or with trauma experience, share 1300 m gardenbeds and a common kitchen. In the kitchen we have a permanent "Free Flow Table" where we practise gift economy.

Now, in 2011, the project is on its own feed and I focus to help with what I call the "Transition Process" and am interested in community gardens and earth healing activities.
