Dear Henry,

I am working for the Energy Saving Trust and my colleagues are currently putting together a bid to run the Carbon Emissions Reduction Pilot for Hackney Council. You may already be aware of Hackney Council’s plans for this project, but if not, it is aimed at providing outreach and support to Hackney’s residents to help them reduce their carbon emissions in a variety of ways.



From our research into the community groups in the Hackney area, we thought that you would be a good contact for the Transition Town Hackney Energy Group. Based on our experience, we know that these projects are always more successful if local community groups are involved. So my colleagues have asked me to get in touch with you while they are preparing their bid.



At present, we’re looking for a pledge that Transition Town Hackney would be interested in working with us on the project should we win the tender. Also, if there are specific activities that you are planning this year that you would like support on, we would happily include this in our plans. For example, we would like to provide support in future on the door knocking project that you are kicking off this week.



We have a short turnaround so we’d really appreciate a response by Thursday, if possible. If we are successful, my colleague, Keith Von Tersch, will be in touch with you in the near future. If you’d like to speak to him about the project before then, feel free to contact him on:
