Parents social at Evin Cafe, 115 Kingsland High St London E8 2PB

February 7, 2011 from 7pm to 9pm
A couple of us are starting a parents' group - a place to talk about what it's like facing peak oil, climate change and other issues as a parent. Looking at how we can offer support to each other - practically and emotionally.We're starting out meeting in a cafe in Dalston for a social, to get to know each other. Meeting at Evin cafe - just up from the Rio Cinema on Kingsland High Street. Sells cheap food - eg delicious gozleme - savoury Turkish pancakes.See More

Clapton Transition socials

Would you like to meet up on a regular basis - to share food together and talk about all things transition? There are 3 or 4 of us Clapton folk interested in meeting up. Emphasis would be on getting to know each other as a first step, keeping it fun. From this, we can find out what action people would like to take, and what form - eg awareness raising (films, talks), gardening, skill sharing, linking with the council and with Hackney Environment Network, joining in with Chatsworth Road Sunday…See More

10:10 Reducing my family's C02 by 10%

I wanted to let people know what we're doing here (my little family of 5), trying to reduce our carbon footprint, having signed up to 10:10 and also becoming increasingly concerned about the sheer level of climate change being witnessed, right now, around the world, and also the frightening scientific predictions and concerns. (and that's without peak oil.....).

However, in case anyone is thinking that transition town people are all living in super-insulated homes with renewable… Continue

Hi Alison,
The E5 thing is quiet for the time being. I got a mail the other day from Ashley Parsons, who seems to be the Godfather of the project (not in the Italian sense, I presume). He told me he's going to let me know when there's a meeting on. They're still sorting out their new executive thingumyjig. I'll tell you when something's happening, eh :~}

Hi Alison,
Don't really have a spare moment to change it over, also the first version is a little more polished, however an unpolished something is better than a polished nothing. I have removed the old links. I don't know if you might have a chance to upload the other version, but the same thing may happen. Perhaps we should email Big Al and get his permission to embed them. Its all a bit strange as they are on a creative commons licence

Hi Alison,
Thanks for stepping up. It is deeply appreciated. Bearing in mind that we are all making it up, albeit with pretentions to doing it intelligently, thanks for joining the chaos.
best wishes for this bearing fruit for us all
Ken
