Abundance Sheffield / Organic Lea / Ian White
The course will cover practical issues of harvesting, a how to guide, as well as creative ways to engage communities, communications, and problem solving when harvesting, storing and distributing fruit.
The two half day events will be held Saturday 5th June from:

2 - 5pm at Mycenae House, 90 Mycenae Road, Blackheath, SE3 7SE
Abundance is a project to harvest the seasonal glut of local fruit like apples, pear and plums. Abundance is a team of volunteers who have been helping harvest city fruit and redistributing the surplus to the community on a non-profit basis - to community cafes, nurseries, Surestarts and individuals.
We will also be joined by Organiclea, (morning session at Hackney City Farm) a community food project inspired by the connections that real food creates.
Ian White: cider and perry coordinator for Campaign for Real Ale will be leading an afternoon cider tasting of local London cider and sharing his experience in the making of a good homemade cider.
The event is free and organised for our three urban harvesting partner Transition Towns: Brockley/ Lewisham, Hackney and Westcombe Park. If space is available, the event will be opened up to others.
Please email anne-laure.carruth@network.rca.ac.uk to register; specifying which Transition Town group you are from and which session you’ll be attending. Please note that places are limited! Let us know by 18th May whether you will be coming, so that we can open up the event to others.
